Schenectady- Dean Thomas Plakas 36, passed away suddenly on Wednesday December 7, 2016 at Ellis Hospital.
Dean was born in New Haven, CT, a son to Tommy Plakas and the late Kathy Schumeyer Plakas.
He graduated from Niskayuna High School and Hudson Valley Community College. Dean was a passionate restauranteur and family man who along with his fiance Amie, were the owners of Peter Pause Restaurant in Schenectady.
He is survived by his fiance Amie Marie Phillips and her loving children Ethan and Emma, sister Vivian, brothers, Gus , George, Denny, Peter, Johnny, Jimmy Plakas and their respective families, his father Tommy, "Unkle" John, nieces, nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many many friends.
Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Sunday from 3 PM to 7 PM at the Jones Funeral, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady.
A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 107 Clinton St., Schenectady, NY. Burial will next to his mother at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Dean's memory to the GoFundMe page that has been set up for Dean's family.
