Dolph G. P. Ebeling, 95, died peacefully on November 16, 2015.
Born in New York City he had lived in Niskayuna since 1950. He and the late Sylvia Ryder were married for 66 years and lovingly raised Dianne and Scott.
He worked for GE for 25 years as a metallurgist in Large Steam Turbines, then at the Knolls, KAPL, and GE's Engineering Services Department. In 1970 he founded his own software company, Ebeling Associates, combining decision theory, statistics, and computer programming to improve the management of manufacturing companies. As the company grew it was renamed EXEControl Global Solutions which is one of the longest continuously operating software companies in the country. After retiring in 1995 he continued a lifetime of adventures from taking a merchant steamer to Brazil in his teens to trekking in Nepal at 75.
He is survived by his children Dianne (Ken) Schwartz, East Lansing MI and Scott (Beverly) Ebeling, Latham NY, grandchildren Nancy Swayze, Holden MA and Eric (Caroline) Schwartz, Paris, France and great grandchildren Orion and Sage Swayze and Cloe and Hugo Schwartz.
A memorial service at First Reformed Church, Schenectady will be held Saturday, November 21st at 12pm. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Lewy Body Dementia Society (www.LBDA.org) is suggested.
