Edwin J. Pike Sr., 99, of Scotia, died peacefully Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Ellis Hospital.
Edwin was a Veteran of WW II, a machinist at GE for 37 years, an avid golfer and Bowler, he loved spending vacations in Cape Cod. He loved woodworking and skiing, and inspired 3 generations of skiers. He brought great joy to his family.
He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years Edna Mae Tenney Pike.
He was the beloved father of Susan (Sonny) Hussar of Schenectady, Donna Lelke of Brewster, MA and Edwin (Linda) Pike Jr. of Galway. Grandfather of Kelly (Maya) Kernaghan, Erin (Stuart) Reid, Heidi Lelke, Wendi (Justin) Lelke-Wallway, Johanna Lelke, Colleen Pike-Bellamy and Shannon (Jorge) Castro-Pike. Great Grandfather of Matthew, Lily and Nicholas Kernaghan; Miles and Owen Reid; Elsa, Dylan and Troy Wallway; Rebecca Pike and Madison Bellamy; Antonio Garcia-Pike and Dylan Castro-Pike. He also leaves his companion Nancy Roode.
A graveside service will be held at Schenectady Memorial Park at 1 PM on Thursday, December 31st. There will be no calling hours.
Donations may be made in Ed's memory to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
