Elyne H. Schulte

Elyne H. Schulte passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Capital Living Nursing Center. She was 88.
Born in Teaneck, NJ on March 26, 1929, daughter of the late Conrad and May Belle (Beer) Howard.
Elyne earned her BA and Masters from SUNY Albany. She taught mathematics for 28 years at the Duanesburg School District and continued in her field as a part time teacher at Schenectady Christian School and other area schools, most recently at the Sylvan Learning Center. She was very active in the First Reformed Church and was in charge of the Church Bookstore. She also served as treasurer for the NYS United Teachers and was active with the Schenectady Interfaith Community.
Survivors include Frank and Kathleen Gillick of Rotterdam, a son in law Scott and Beverly Ebeling of Watervliet, a cousin Tom McNeil of Tacoma, WA and three grandsons, Dr. John and Samantha Gillick, Vincent Gillick and Thomas Gillick.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved daughter, Lorraine Ebeling.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00am on Saturday, August 26 at the First Reformed Church of Schenectady, 8 N. Church Street.
