Gemma P. Stapleton, 101, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 27, 2015 at Capital Living Nursing & Rehab Centre, Schenectady, where she had been a resident since March 2013.
She was born on December 15, 1914, in Schenectady to Paul and Matilda Monaco. She is predeceased by her husband Donald and by six siblings.
Gemma retired from General Electric after a life-long career there (working many of them in the Personnel Office); she was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club. She is a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
She is survived by her sister, Pauline Ruhl, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A calling hour will be held on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM th the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at Noon at St. John the Evanglist Church, with burial to follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
