Genevieve "Gene" O'Malley 95, passed away Tuesday October 24, 2017 at Baptist Health Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Schenectady, a daughter to the late Stanley and Henrietta Bartnicki. Gene graduated from Nott Terrace High School, she was a Dental Assistant for Dr. Joseph DeNardo from 1940 to 1951. She was a member of Schenectady Dental Assistants Association, Schenectady Curling Club and St. Gabriel's Church. Gene was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, C. Douglas O'Malley, her daughter Patricia O'Malley; granddaughter Maggie O'Malley; her sister Hedwig "Helen" Cuomo.
She is survived by her sons, Paul and Joseph O'Malley both of Rotterdam; daughter Kathleen (William) Stuart of Tampa, FL; grandchildren Erin Stuart, Matthew (Stacie) Stuart, Trevor Liefer: great granddaughter Gracie Stuart; son in-law Tim Liefer and niece Christine Iarossi.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian burial on Saturday October 28th at 10 AM at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church at 10 AM. A calling hour will be held Saturday morning from 8:30 AM to 9:30 Am at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady for those who wish to call. Burial will follow the Mass at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
The family would like to thank the Staff at Baptist Health Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the loving care given to Genevieve during her last years.
