Schenectady-- Gioconda "Margaret" Madonna, 87, of Ten Eyck Apartments, formerly of Foster Avenue, died Wednesday,December 10,2008 at Ellis Hospital
Born in Schenectady, daughter of the late Vincent and Antonetta Nardo Paone, Margaret was a life long Schenectady resident. She worked at Schenectady Day Nursery for 20 years where retired from in October of 2005. She was a member of St. Anthony's Church , a Board member of Ten Eyck Apt's, and a former member of Fraternity Order of Eagles. She had a great love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Margaret was a big Yankees fan and loved the Saratoga Racetrack. She was a very generous person and would give you the shirt off her back.
Survived by her daughters, Nancy (Robert) Rusnak of Saratoga Springs and Rosemarie Lightsey of Rotterdam; grandmother of Jennifer ( John ) Ziobrowski of Raleigh, NC and Erica (Joseph) Villano of Rotterdam; great grandmother of Julianna and John Thomas Ziobrowski, and Anthony John Villano. Sister of Victor (Dorothy) Paone of Holiday, FL, Ann (August) Caschera of Scotia, sister in-law Rachel Paone of Schenectady; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings, Joseph Paone, Evelyn Simboli, Mary Terry and Constantino Paone.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a prayer service on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 11 AM at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady. Calling hours will be Saturday morning from 9 AM to 11 AM at the funeral for those who wish to call.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers, at Margaret's request, may be made to Schenectady Day Nursery, 25 Lafayette St., Schenectady, NY 12305.
Burial in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
