Hitchcock, 85, died peacefully Jan. 8, 2019 at Ellis Hospital. The daughter of Claude and Gladise (nee Parrott) Neibling, Janet was born on Valentine's Day, 1933 in Horton, Kansas. Janet earned a bachelor's degree in art from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Janet's husband, Paul R Hitchcock, predeceased her. Survivors include children Susan Hitchcock-Bopp (Richard), Michael Hitchcock (Diana), Linda Peterson (Thomas) and Jill Smolinski (Christopher) as well as grandchildren Matthew, Noah and Leah Hitchcock, Lauren and Thomas Peterson and Zachary and Sarah Smolinski. Janet is also survived by her sister, Carol Slaybaugh and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Eastern Parkway United Church in Schenectady on Friday January 25th at 10 AM.
