Baltimore, MD - Jean Ross Moravec 100, died Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at Roland Park Place, Baltimore, MD, after a long illness. Jean Ross Moravec was born in Central City, NE, June 5, 1907. She recently celebrated her 100th birthday. She was a graduate of Central City High School and the University of Nebraska, where she was president of the Pi Phi Sorority.
Living in Schenectady, NY for fifty years, Mrs. Moravec was a devoted wife to the late Dr. Clayton L. Moravec Sr and mother to Eugenie (Gigi) Moravec Garman(Dr. Ray Garman) of Lexington, KY, and Dr. Clayton L. Moravec Jr. (Gabriele) of Baltimore, MD. Also surviving Mrs. Moravec are six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Mrs. Moravec moved to Roland Park Place in 1984, where she was a founding member of its library, and she played the piano for the residents for many years.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2008 1:00pm at Historic St. George's Episcopal Church in Schenectady, NY. In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to the charity of ones choice.
