Joan E. Evans

Joan E. Evans, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 27, 2016. Born January 6, 1937 in Brushton, NY to the late Alice and Vincent Reynolds. She was predeceased by her husband, Warren A. Evans.
Joan attended Brushton Moira Central High School and graduated from Russell Sage College and Ellis Hospital School of Nursing. She has resided in the town of Niskayuna since 1960. She married Warren in 1958 and had two sons, Wayne and David. She worked as a nurse at both Ellis and Bellevue Hospitals in Schenectady and joined the family insurance agency (Hopmeieir Evans Gage Agency) with Warren and David for many years.
Joan attended Niskayuna and Lisha's Kill Reformed Churches where she sang in the choir. She later attended the Coila Church in Cambridge, NY as well as New Hope Presbyterian Church in Ft. Myers, FL.
For over 28 years, Joan split her time between her homes in Niskayuna and Salem, NY as well as Ft. Myers, FL. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons Wayne (Michele) of Nashville, TN and David (Susan) of Niskayuna, NY, two grandchildren, Samantha and Patrick and brother Ronald (Diane) Reynolds.
Friends are invited to visit the family on Tuesday, August 30th from 5 to 7 pm at Jones Funeral Home at 1503 Union St. in Schenectady. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday at Lisha's Kill Reformed Church.
