John "JP" Phillips 61. formerly of Syracuse, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday November 19, 2015 surrounded by family.
He will be remembered for his optimistic outlook and his easy going way. JP loved sports. He was a talented baseball player and a lifelong fan of the Orangemen, the Yankees and the Giants.
A music lover; Dave Mason and Steve Miller were his favorites. He was a accomplished artist and poet. JP enjoyed the comfort and support of the staff and his friends at Mohawk Opportunities in Schenectady as well as Ellis Hospital.
He is predeceased by his father Jack Phillips and his brother Mike Phillips.
JP is survived by his mother Jetta Phillips; a sister Sue (George) Casanova and brothers Bill (Connie) Phillips, Jim Phillips and Tom (Karen) Phillips; a nephew, 3 nieces and a grandniece..
A remembrance gathering will be held at a later date.
