Kay McCaffery passed away March 11, 2014 - Our loving mother and our beloved grandmother peacefully entered eternal life.
Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Walter and Irene Jacobson (Carey) on March 4, 1925.
Kay married Edward J. McCaffery in 1950, together they raised four children. Kay enjoyed being a stay at home mother. Together Kay and Ed wintered in Naples, Florida for 18 years and enjoyed a very active lifestyle.
Kay 's hobbies included bowling, bridge, travel, reading and following baseball especially the Brooklyn Dodgers and NY Mets. Kay especially loved to dance.
Kay was a long time communicant of St. Helen's Church in Niskayuna and St. Mary's Crescent in Waterford.
Kay was predeceased by her husband, Edward J. McCaffery, her sister Peggy Hagaman and brother Walter Jacobson. Survivors include her daughter, Geraldine McCaffery of Marietta, Georgia, her son, James McCaffery of Newbury Park, California (Kathryn), her daughter, Eileen Zilberman of Niskayuna, NY (William), her son, Kevin McCaffery of Niskayuna, NY. Kay adored her 4 grandchildren, Kelly McCaffery, Erin McCaffery, Megan McCaffery and Patrick Zilberman. Kay is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A private family service was held at Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12309.
