Lenora Marie Caffrey

Lenora Marie Caffrey, born August 4, 1959, in Schenectady, NY, joined her loving parents in Heaven on December 3, 2022. She attended Niskayuna High School and Junior College of Albany, Nursing. While Schenectady was her home for most of her life, she spent many happy years living abroad in Ireland. Lenora had a gift for words and language. She was an avid letter writer and wrote the most beautiful letters to her family. Lenora was full of whimsy and Christmas was her favorite holiday. The lights, trees, ornaments, and gift giving brought her much joy. It is fitting she will now be celebrated for every Christmas to come. Other than her family, nothing brought her more daily happiness than cheering on her favorite sports teams. She was a devoted and knowledgeable fan. Her love for her teams will carry on with her loved ones. Go Bills! Go Giants! Go Jets! Go Yankees! Go Knicks! Go Blue (Michigan Wolverines)!
Lenora is survived by her sister, Ellen Mindel, brother-in-law, James Mindel, brother, William Keefe, six nieces, and by her three children, Seamus Caffrey, and his wife, Colleen Caffrey, Aisling Caffrey and her husband, Wilfred Santiago, and Yvonne Kessler and her husband, Neil Kessler, and her seven grandchildren, Haleigh Snare, Aibhlinn Kessler, Ronan Kessler, Javier Santiago, Mateo Santiago, Caragh Kessler, and Isla Caffrey.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Lenora in a special way may make a memorial contribution to Catholic Charities in Schenectady, NY.
