Lisa Holt, 68, died on October 2, 2015 after a long battle with cancer, at her home with her family close by.
Born in Troy to the late Tom and Nancy McNamara, Lisa was a graduate of Catholic High, Daemen College, and earned her Master in Library Science from University of Albany. During her career she taught social studies, worked as a children's librarian for Schenectady County Public Library and worked for the New York State Education Department.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Rich, her daughter Sara Holt (Tobias) of Boston, MA. and son Christopher Holt (Jordan) of Washington, D.C.; three grandchildren, Lucie, Lleyton and Cora, and two brothers, Thomas McNamara of Leominster, MA., and Lawrence McNamara, of Malta, N.Y.
Among her many loves in life were her family, travel, books, and bridge. She will be terribly missed by her family and her many life-long friends and those from book club and bridge. Her family would like to thank Radha from Home Instead for her loving care.
The funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 7 at 11 a.m. at St. Kateri Church, 1803 Union St., Schenectady, N.Y. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the church Wednesday between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Reception to follow Mass at 12:30 p.m. at The Edison Club, 891 Riverview Road, Rexford, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers her family asks for contributions to the Friends of the Schenectady County Public Library (friendsofscpl.org/donations/) or the Lungevity Foundation (lungevity.org/donate).
