Mrs. Marian A. Bartling, 95, of Schenectady, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2014 of natural causes. She was born Marian Anita Buhrmaster on May 20, 1919, in Schenectady NY, and graduated from Nott Terrace High School
Her husband of 52 years, Clarence (Bart) E. Bartling, Jr., predeceased her on May 24, 1994. Together Marian and Bart lived in Binghamton NY, Summerville SC, and Schenectady. She was also predeceased by parents Leland and Bertha Buhrmaster, sister Marjorie Gardner of Charleton NY, brother Donald Buhrmaster of Camden SC, and son-in-law Edward Butler.
She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Butler of Ballston Spa NY, Lynne (Jim) Moore of Flagstaff AZ, and a son, Douglas (Karen) L Bartling, Sr. of San Antonio TX. She loved her 8 grandchildren; Michele Stepien and Michael Butler, Doug Jr, Cory, Kyle and Kendra Bartling, and Mackenzie and Madison Moore. Marian was also the treasured great grandmother of 6 children; Tyler and Alexa Stepien, Jacob, Nicholas and Kasey Butler, and Ashley Bartling.
Marian lived a full and active life, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
A private family memorial will be held at Memory Gardens on December 27, 2014 where Marian will be laid to rest next to her husband.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Schenectady City Mission or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (AFA).
