Scotia- Norma Unser Quackenbush 90, died Thursday at Baptist Health Nursing Center.
Norma was born in Schenectady, daughter of the late Frank and Clara Frederick Unser. She graduated from Nott Terrace High School and Mildred Elley. Norma worked at GE during WW II. She was a life long member of Eastern Parkway United Methodist Church, taught Sunday school for 30 years and was an active member of Circle B Sewing Group. Norma was predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, Elihu "Hi", in 2001.
Survived by her sons, David and his wife Pat of Ballston Spa and Ronald and his wife Sandra of Canton, GA. Also survived by 10 grandchildren; Diane Q. Gustavson, Cheryl Q. Misiewicz, Julie Q. Fisher, Eric Quackenbush, Paul Quackenbush, Tammy Q. Kirkwood, Jennifer Q. Hunt, Jami Q. Powell, Jordan Quackenbush and Jason Quackenbush, 5 great-grandchildren; Reilly Misiewicz, Carter Misiewicz, Michael Powell, Paul Quackenbush and Brandon Kirkwood; 1 great-great grandson Bradley Quackenbush. Predeceased by her brothers Wilbur Turner, Floyd Turner and Malcolm Turner.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday at 11 AM at Calvary Episcopal Church, 85 Lake Hill Rd., Burnt Hills. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady. Burial will be in Memory Garden's Colonie.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in Norma's memory to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer Association.
