Peter C. Huening, 67, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013.
Born in Boston, MA on October 16, 1945, he was the son of the late Walter & Margaret Huening. He was a graduate of Tufts University and a retired electrical engineer from General Electric Co. Peter had a love of bluegrass music, often traveling to concerts and festivals and befriending fellow banjo and guitar players along the way. In his retirement he enjoyed teaching banjo classes to beginners in adult education classes.
The greatest joy and his occupation for the last 10 years was being the consummate grandfather to his beloved grandaughter Samantha. She was the apple of his eye. He attended her various and many sporting and theatrical events. Grandpa Peter enjoyed volunteering at her school library and shared their love of tennis by having her accompany him on his annual trip to the US Open. Grandpa Peter and Sam enjoyed many ice cream cones & movies together and he thoroughly enjoyed repairing her broken toys as he was an expert toy fixer.
Peter is survived by his step-daughter Amy Versocki & her husband David and their daughter Samantha of Charlton, Sandra Huening of Glenville and sister Susan (Brian) Locke of Portland, Maine and their children Kerry, Janice & Andrew.

Calling hours will be held Friday, February 1st at Jones Funeral Home from 3pm - 5pm followed by a memorial service.
