Richard R. Relyea

Rotterdam-Richard R. Relyea 82, of Rotterdam, died peacefully in his sleep on September 22, 2011.
Dick was born July 29, 1929 in Schenectady, son of the late Howard and Alice Talerico Relyea Sr..
He was a Sgt.in the Marine Corps, serving in the Korean Conflict. Dick first worked at Mica (now 3M), then went onto work for
NYS Canal System and retired in 1995 as groundskeeper at O.D.Heck in Niskayuna.
He was a member of South Schenectady Fire Department for over 50 years.
Survived by his daughter, Sharon Relyea, sister, Carol Lee Relyea, sister in-law, Charlotte Relyea, several
nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Howard Relyea Jr.
A calling hour will be held Monday, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St.,
(at McClellan St.), Schenectady, for those who wish to call. Burial ,with Military honors, will follow at Park
View Cemetery at 1 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Richard's memory may be made to the South Schenectady Fire Company.
