Robert G. Alden Jr.

Robert G. Alden Jr., 47 of Schenectady, NY passed unexpectedly in his home on January 25, 2019.
He was born January 30, 1971 in Schenectady, NY, son of the late Karen (Vaughn) Alden and Robert G. Alden. He was the third of four siblings. He is survived by his sisters Kim Alden, Tammy Alden and brother Jason Alden.
Robert was a single father and dedicated his life to raising his three amazing children, Karyn Alden, Kyrsten Alden and Robert G. Alden III. In addition he is survived by his two grandchildren Isabella Alden, Shawn (SJ) Fennicks Jr. and expected to welcome his third grandchild in May 2019, Ariella Fennicks.
Robert was also an amazing uncle who will be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews, Amber, Gus, Chuckie, Valeska, Lucas, Jasmin, Austin, Angel and Rozalind.
Robert was a dedicated employee who worked for 21 years at the Niskayuna CO-OP as the Co- Deli Manager. He took immense pride and joy in serving his customers and enjoyed seeing his regulars.
Rob was happiest when he was spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle and spending time hiking and biking in the Adirondacks. He had a profound love for the written word; he enjoyed writing poetry and reading on any topic that he was currently interested in.
Calling hours will be at Jones Funeral Home at 1503 Union St. Schenectady, NY on Sunday February 3, 2019 from 2pm- 3:30pm with funeral services to immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to The Robert G. Alden Memorial Fund c/o The Adirondack Trust Company, 473 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. These funds are intended to assist the children with the immediate financial needs following their fathers unexpected passing.
