Robert Peterson Rev

Niskayuna-The Rev. Robert N. Peterson died on July 26, 2009 following a long illness. Bob was married on August 8, 1958 to June Short Peterson.
Bob was a graduate of Hope College, New Brunswick Theological Seminary, and also earned a Certificate of Pastoral Counseling from the Syracuse Pastoral Counseling Center.
Bob served the following churches: Linlithgo Reformed Church in Livingston, NY, Second Reformed Church in Coxsackie, NY, Riverside Community Reformed Church in Cleveland, OH, Christ Community Reformed Church in Utica, NY, and Bethany Reformed Church in Albany, NY. He also served as interim pastor in Claverack, NY and Catskill, NY and most recently served as assistant minister at the Niskayuna Reformed Church in Niskayuna, NY.
Bob has served as the President of the Synod of Albany, President of the Albany and Montgomery Classes, Stated Clerk of the Synod of Albany, and sat on various committees of the Synod of Albany and Albany and Montgomery Classes.
Bob is survived by his wife June, his sons David (married to Malinda) and James (married to Mary), grandchildren Mathew, Megan, Kathryn, and Jason, and his sister Suzanne. He is predeceased by his parents Owen and Kathryn.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the Niskayuna Reformed Church at 2 PM. Per Bob's wishes, in lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be sent to the Niskayuna Reformed Church Building Fund.
