Robert E. Senn

Dr. Robert E. Senn 91, passed away December 27, 2015 at Kingsway Nursing Center after a long illness.
Robert was born on June 29, 1924, the son of the late Dr. Emil and Rose Malo Senn.
Born in Schenectady, Dr. Senn graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and served in the United
States Navy Air Force. He attended Union College for two years where he was on the Dean's List.
He transferred to Columbia University where he received a Master of Science Degree with Honors.
He then went on to receive his Doctorate from Massachusetts College of Optometry.
Dr. Senn was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Marian Senn, his son Douglas Senn, his brother
Dr. John Senn, and his sister Josephine Senn. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Christine Senn,
and two grandchildren, Will and Ted Adamczak.
Dr. Senn practiced Optometry from his office which was located on State Street in Schenectady.
Dr. Senn was a former member of the Eastern New York Optometric Society. He was a life
member and past president of the Rotterdam Lion's Club and a former member of the Mohawk
Golf Club. He was also a former chairman of the Schenectady Christian Business Men's Committee
and a former member of Lisha Kill Reformed Church.
Dr. Senn enjoyed sailing and spending time at the family camp on Galway Lake. He also enjoyed
traveling to Ogunquit Maine every year.
Funeral Services will be private at the convenience of his family. Donations in Dr. Senn's memory
may be made to the City Mission of Schenectady.
