Florida- Sylvia E. Verno, 76, of Deerfield Beach, FL, long time resident of Colonie, NY, passed away September 7, 2009 at Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton, FL.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Steven J. Verno.
Sylvia worked with the best restaurant business, training under Chef John Piccolo and Chef Eugene Lablanc. She was also a member of Local 471.
She raised seven children, loved traveling, and will be fondly remembered.
Sylvia is survived by; Steve and Brenda Verno, their children Stevie Jr, Max, Destinee, Shane and Melissa, and Ian of FL, Tony Verno and his children Kyle and Lauren of FL, Bob(Bear) and Marion Verno of FL, Mary and Bob Birdsall and their children, Corianne, Brianna and Billy of Colonie, Elizabeth (Liz) and Joey Cronin and their children, Megan and her son,Gabe, James and Kait of Delmar, Cynthia (CJ) Verno and her children, Layla and Russell of Colonie, and Peter Verno of FL. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a farewell tribute on October 4, 2009 at 2 PM at Community Reformed Church of Colonie, corner of Sand Creek and Watervliet-Shaker Rd. There will be no calling hours or interment. Contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice by the Sea, 1531 W. Palmetto Park Rd., Boca Raton, FL 33486
