Vera Grogan Stears 84, former resident of Ravena, passed away Saturday October 12, 2013 at Evergreen Commons, East Greenbush.
Vera was born in Petersburgh, NY, a daughter of the late Alonzo M. and Gertrude Crandall Grogan. Vera worked at Cluett Peabody in Troy and Montgomery Wards in Menands. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Vera is survived by her children, Kathleen A. (Jeffrey) Korins of Greeley, CO, Ronald W. ( Christine) Stears of Vero Beach, Fl, Donald I. Stears of Ravena, NY, Sandra L. (Robert) McKinley of Averill Park, NY, Glen D. Stears of Ft. Myers, FL, Timothy J. (Susan) Stears of Charlton, NY and Sherri L. Stears of Glenmont, NY; sisters, Sylvia (Robert) Crandall and Nancy (Sidney) Morrissey; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers Alonzo and Franklin Grogan.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday October 16th at 2 PM at Sand Lake Union Cemetery, Sand Lake, NY.
