View Tribute Book William "Bill" Lund passed away peacefully on April 26, 2018, the morning after his 104th birthday. He was a man described as "warm hugs, easy laughter and a big heart". Bill was born on 4-25-14 in Brooklyn, NY to his Norwegian parents Henry and Sophie Lund. Bill attended Pratt Institute of Design in NYC. Following school he was a window designer in NYC. He met the love of his life Stella Ofsian in New York and then moved to Schenectady where they were married at St. Helen's church in 1941. In Schenectady, Bill followed his dream of starting his own design and decorating business. Besides spending time with his family, he and Stella loved to dance and were original members of the Schenectady Cotillion. He loved skiing and passed on that love to his children and grandchildren. Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife Stella (2008), his daughter Kristen Washington and his siblings Frank, Eleanor, Alice, Marie and Elsie. Bill is survived by his two daughters: Janet Lund and Karen O'Keefe (Andrew): his 6 grandchildren: James Washington, Kelly O'Keefe, Andrew O'Keefe (Amy), Michael O'Keefe (Angie), Brian O'Keefe (Jenni) and Brendan O'Keefe (Michelle): nine great grandchildren, his sister Grace Lemontt, and many nieces, nephews, dear neighbors and good friends. The funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on Saturday April 28th at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1801 Union St, Schenectady, NY 12309. Visitation will be from 9:30 until the time of mass at 10. Internment and a celebration of his life will be at a later date.
